This living room design brings together bold color, pattern, and traditional character to create a space that feels both vibrant and refined. Designed to energize the home while maintaining a sense of balance, the room layers a playful, colorful rug and geometric pillows with softer elements like custom white drapery, fresh white trim and millwork, and a deep slate wall color that grounds the space.
The design celebrates contrast—pairing lively pattern and color with calm, tailored details to create a room that feels dynamic yet composed.
A standout moment is the artisan ceramic vessel, which adds a sculptural layer of beauty and quiet elegance within the more playful setting.
Historic elements were thoughtfully reimagined throughout the space. An antique fireplace mantel salvaged from an 1890s home was restored and given new life with a fresh finish, becoming a focal point that ties the room to its architectural roots.
Adjacent to the living area, the stair was upgraded with a new railing, wainscoting, and contemporary wallpaper, creating a seamless transition between spaces and reinforcing the home’s layered, collected feel.
