This interior design project in Lexington, Massachusetts reimagines the den as a welcoming, fireside space designed for both entertaining and everyday retreat. The room invites guests to gather for cocktails and conversation in a moody, relaxed atmosphere centered around the fireplace.
The den is color-drenched, warm, and dramatic, featuring a layered mix of traditional, eclectic, contemporary, and antique pieces. Thoughtfully designed to support quiet reading as well as engaging conversation, the space balances comfort, character, and visual depth.
Our full-service interior design scope included a complete redesign with custom-designed built-ins, floor-to-ceiling paint, wallpaper, curated artwork, new lighting, furniture, area rugs, and the sourcing of antiques.
Standout features include a vintage French hutch retrofitted into a liquor cabinet with integrated LED lighting, and custom built-in bookcases beside the fireplace with a hidden secretary desk—allowing the space to easily shift from work or homework to an elegant, uncluttered setting for entertaining.
