Luxurious Study Reimagined

Lexington, MA

This full-service interior design project in Lexington, Massachusetts transformed a home study into an immersive, highly personal workspace for a working professional who travels frequently and works from home. The design blends eclectic, modern, and contemporary elements with curated antiques, drawing inspiration from Oxford college libraries and art museums to create a space that feels transporting, intellectual, and deeply atmospheric.

The primary goal was to design a study that encourages focused work, creative thinking, and quiet retreat, while also serving as a place to relax with a laptop or book. The room was fully reimagined with new paint, silk wallpaper, a custom ceiling mural, layered lighting, new furniture, custom drapery, and plush velvet carpeting.

Thoughtful styling allowed for the display of antiques, artwork, and plants, adding depth, history, and warmth to the space.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the project is the custom ceiling mural, created using wallpaper derived from a 16th-century Dutch painting.

This unexpected interior design detail elevates the study into a truly gallery-like experience, turning the ceiling into a focal point and reinforcing the room’s role as a place to escape, reflect, and work with intention.
